Castletown kids clear winners at school quiz competition

An audience of parents, grandparents and friends were treated to a primary school quiz competition in Thurso West Church on Wednesday, March 27.

Teams from Miller Academy, Halkirk, Reay, Castletown and Mount Pleasant primary schools battled through 10 rounds of subjects from history, sport, and mathematics to general knowledge and pot luck with Castletown pupils the eventual winners.

A spokesperson for the event said: “Castletown led the competition from the start closely followed by Mount Pleasant throughout the competition. All the teams did a terrific job and should be proud of being great ambassadors for their schools.

“There was fantastic support from a large audience of parents, relatives and fellow school pupils despite the cold weather on the night.”
