Castletown coffee afternoon in aid of Blythswood Shoebox Appeal
A coffee afternoon is being held in Castletown this weekend in aid of the 2022 Blythswood Shoebox Appeal.
It takes place on Saturday, October 29, from 2-4pm, in Castletown Free Church.
As in previous years, gifts are being collected for people in need across eastern Europe.
Christine Stone, local coordinator for Castletown and surrounding communities, said: "A huge thank-you to all who have already donated to this year's Blythswood Shoebox Appeal 2022. Thanks also to primary 6/7 of Castletown school who are busy this week wrapping shoeboxes for the team.
"Every kind of help and contribution is greatly appreciated by us here.

"To continue the good work being done by so many, we are planning a coffee afternoon and entry will be by donation. Money donations received on the day will be shared between additional items to complete boxes and for transportation costs of our boxes to eastern Europe.
"We plan to have a sales table too, with baking and other bits and bobs."
The last hand-in date for shoeboxes or gift bags will be Wednesday, November 9. The Blythswood lorry is due to arrive the following day and will be parked outside the church in Castletown between 11.30am and 12.15pm.
Blythswood Care is a Christian charity based in Evanton, Easter Ross.
