Careless driving on A9 leads to points on licence for Forss driver

The way Jamie Sutherland was driving his car attracted the attention of police officers.

His speed was excessive and he was accelerating harshly, Wick Sheriff Court was told on Wednesday.

Sutherland (29) admitted a charge of careless driving and having incorrect details on his insurance – the vehicle's registration related to a previous address.

The offences occurred on the A9 leading south from Thurso, on October 23, last year.

Sutherland, of Brims Road, Forss, incurred four penalty points on the careless driving charge and was admonished on the insurance count.

The court heard that Sutherland was currently subject to a supervision order imposed, previously, in respect of an unrelated offence.
