Car crash in Caithness closes A9 road

A CAR crash in Caithness closed the south-bound lane of the A9 road on Tuesday. The accident, which involved two vehicles, happened between Berriedale and Dunbeath just after noon.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "A man has been charged with careless driving after a crash involving two vehicles on the A9 at Rockhead Road junction today at 12.10pm. A man received treatment from ambulance staff."

She said the crash closed the south-bound lane of the road and pointed out that the vehicles "are in the process of being recovered".
