Police who raided Christopher Page's home discovered he was growing his own cannabis, Wick Sheriff Court heard on Wednesday.

Page (34) admitted cultivating the Class B drug on March 7, last year, contrary to the Misuse of Drugs Act, 1971.

Fiscal David Barclay said that officers discovered four plants in various stages of growth. If the plants grew to maturity they could have a potential value of between £250 and £900 depending on their condition.

The fiscal added that the drugs were intended for Page's personal use and the court also heard he was self-mediating for health issues.

Sentence on Page, of Bronx Cottage, Scarfskerry, was deferred for six months to allow him to demonstrate he can behave.
