CLIMBING to the top to become one of the best known wrestlers in Caithness, Big Bob is now aiming to scale new heights to raise money for a charity that helps sufferers of a spine condition.

The six foot eight, 18 stone giant from Wick is one of the top stars of Caithness Pro Wrestling (CPW) where he is famous for his signature move, the Hand of Bob. But now he is looking to give a hand to Caithness Spina Bifia to help people with the condition.

Big Bob, whose real name is Douglas Rennie, will attempt to raise money for the charity by climbing three bens in the space of 24 hours next weekend.

He said it will not be an easy task but he is determined to do it as the charity is something which is close to his heart.

“My family have been raising money for the charity for years,” he said.

“A member of my family has this condition and we have worked and supported the charity over the years

“I will be starting at 3am on Saturday to climb three bens and I hope to finish within 24 hours.”

Big Bob will be presenting the money raised from his challenge to the charity at CPW’s next event at Pride of the Highlands on Saturday, August 27 at Wick Assembly Rooms where donations will be on the night to the charity.
