Caithness schools amongst scores hit by bad weather closures in Highlands

THOUSANDS of primary and secondary pupils are being affected by school closures in the Highlands today with Caithness amongst the areas affected .
Highland Council's bad weather closure list to date shows closures affecting more than 5000 secondary pupils and around 3500 at primary school.
It was still being updated at 8am.
A number of schools have indicated that any prelims due to have been held today will be rescheduled.
Highland Council's closure list is updated each morning from 7am.
Bad weather is cited as the reason for virtually all of the closures posted. A Met Office weather warning for snow and ice remains in place until Wednesday morning.
