A group of 12 rhythmic gymnasts from Caithness Rhythmic Gymnastics – a section of Caithness Amateur Gymnastics Club – travelled to Edinburgh's Meadowbank Sports Centre last weekend for Scottish Gymfest 2023.
Gymfest is a celebration of all types of gymnastics and welcomes teams of all ages, abilities and disciplines to perform visually stunning routines in a non-competitive setting.
The Caithness gymnasts were accompanied by coaches Diane Gibson, Sine Hamilton-McLean and Alana Bain.
A number of the gymnasts' parents also travelled with them to Gymfest to see them perform their routine. It had a "Scotland" theme and featured the music of Scottish singers and bands.
The team gave a dynamic display featuring hoops, ropes and ribbons, using music of different tempo to an appreciative audience.
The gymnasts were also invited to meet and have a photograph taken with Maree Todd, the MSP for Caithness, Sutherland and Ross and minister for social care, mental wellbeing and sport. Ms Todd watched and met teams from Caithness and Inverness.
