Caithness rhythmic gymnastics take part in virtual dance challenge
Caithness rhythmic gymnastics joined forces with similar clubs around Scotland for a virtual dance challenge.
The clubs were invited by Rhythmic Gymnastics in Scotland to take part in the session by Zoom as a way of keeping gymnasts and their coaches connected during lockdown, when sports clubs have been unable to operate normally.
They created a short routine to a Meghan Trainor song which will feature in a video to be distributed to all the participating clubs.
The Caithness rhythmic gymnasts and volunteer coaches are part of Caithness Gymnastics Club. They have been meeting via Zoom for a number of weeks, and now that this project has come to a conclusion they will continue their virtual sessions as they have further activities planned.
Coach Diane Gibson said: "We are getting to grips with Zoom and are continuing the virtual classes, and are hopeful that our other rhythmic gymnasts who haven’t tried it virtually yet will join in."

The rhythmic gymnasts normally meet at the Thurso High School gym on a Tuesday evening. The section has up to 30 rhythmic gymnasts, who are separated into four classes.
The artistic section of Caithness Gymnastics Club has more than 150 gymnasts.
