The Caithness Orchestra will present a short, family-friendly programme of music from stage and film at its concerts in Wick and Thurso this month.

The hour-long concerts will include music from Apollo 13, Pirates of the Caribbean and Les Miserables and alongside these well-known tunes will be two new pieces composed by local young musicians. Double Agent is described as an exciting, fast-moving work with a spy thriller feel, composed by Thurso High School pupil Oliver Denley Spencer. By contrast, Piano Piece, composed by Mount Pleasant Primary School pupil Jackson Freeman, is said to be a gentle, touching theme with simplistic beauty. The orchestra welcomes audience members of all ages, including babies and children.

There will be two chances to hear the programme – at 2.30pm on Saturday, November 16, in the Pulteney Centre, Wick, and at 7.30pm on Wednesday, November 20, at Mount Pleasant Primary School in Thurso. Tickets are available on the door.

Entry for accompanied children is free of charge.
