ORGANISERS of the annual Scottish Charity Awards are seeking nominations from across the country to showcase the best of the voluntary sector.

Now in their 16th year, the awards – run by the Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations (SCVO) – highlight the most innovative and effective charities, social enterprises, community groups and individuals and celebrate those who make a difference in communities.

The categories are Employee of the Year, Trustee of the Year, Community Action, Campaign of the Year, Charity of the Year, Volunteer of the Year, Digital Citizen, Pioneering Project and Climate Conscious, with the winners to be decided by a panel of judges.

For the past two years the awards have been online but, Covid restrictions allowing, SCVO will hold a ceremony hosted by Sally Magnusson at Glasgow’s Crowne Plaza hotel on June 15. All finalists will also be entered for the People’s Choice Award.

Applications are open until March 18 at scvo.scot/scottish-charity-awards/apply.
