Caithness man locked partner out of home after threatening her





A man locked his partner out in the cold after a domestic incident at their then home in Halkirk, Wick Sheriff Court was told on Tuesday.

Jonathan Todd admitted behaving in a threatening or abusive manner and will be sentenced later. A not guilty plea to an additional charge of assault was accepted by fiscal depute Ruairidh McAllister.

Todd (27) shouted and swore at the woman, acted in an aggressive manner towards her and uttered abusive remarks, before locking her out of their home in Halkirk, on February 28, leaving her stranded in adverse weather conditions.

Sheriff Gordon Lamont called for a background report which will be considered by the court prior to sentencing on May 28.

Todd, whose current address was given as The Crescent, Glengolly, also admitted a record of offending.
