Caithness jobs fair offers link to local and national industry leaders
People delving into the world of work or looking for a career change or training opportunities will have a chance to connect with industry leaders at a Caithness jobs event.
The event, described as the largest and most comprehensive jobs, careers, training, and recruitment event in Caithness, is heading to Thurso this year after being held in Wick in 2024.
Set to take place on Saturday, February 8, at the UHI Engineering, Technology and Energy Centre (ETEC) in Thurso, the jobs fair promises a unique opportunity for attendees to connect with local and national employers, explore live job vacancies, and gain valuable career insights – all in one location.
The event is organised by Caithness Chamber of Commerce’s Developing the Young Workforce (DYW) North Highland initiative, in partnership with Focus North, Jobcentre Plus, UHI North, West and Hebrides, Skills Development Scotland and Highland Council.
Whether you’re a school leaver, a career changer, someone returning to work, or simply exploring new opportunities, this event is designed to help you take the next step in your career journey. With over 35 exhibitors confirmed, attendees can look forward to interactive displays, a live vacancies board, and a CV clinic offering expert advice and practical tips from industry professionals.
Trudy Morris, CEO of Caithness Chamber of Commerce, said: “Following the incredible success of last year’s event in Wick, we’re thrilled to bring this year’s edition to Thurso.
“This event offers a unique opportunity to discover job vacancies, apprenticeships, and training opportunities while engaging directly with industry leaders. Whether you’re starting out, exploring new paths, or considering further education, this event has something for everyone.”
Tom McGee, operations manager at Developing the Young Workforce North Highland, said: “Nothing beats being in the room when it comes to making connections. This event allows attendees to ask questions, receive expert advice, and directly engage with employers who can help shape their career journey.
“With over 45 local and national employers from sectors such as engineering, hospitality, construction, renewables, and major employers including the Civil Nuclear Constabulary, NHS Highland and Highland Council, there’s truly something for everyone.”
Entry is free, no booking is required and everyone is welcome to attend.
