CAITHNESS Heart Support Group got an illuminating insight into the world of glass-making at its recent annual general meeting.

Anne Ross from Swallow Glass Studio, was the group's guest speaker. She started to sell her glass in 2011 at local craft fairs and markets and trades mainly as part of the Mey Village crafters. She makes glass items such as plates, dishes and bowls and ornamental objects.

The group's main office bearers were re-elected. They are: Noel Donaldson, chairman, Laird Sutherland, vice-chairman, Marjorie Donaldson, secretary, and Caroline Macleod, treasurer. Committee members are Joyce Macdonald, Robert Bell, Joan Fraser, Gladys Gunn and Emily Fraser. Two new members – Elaine Rosie and Jill Simpson – have joined the committee.
