Eight members of Caithness Rhythmic Gymnastics, a section of Caithness Gymnastics Club, took part in the Sapphire Gymnastics Academy birthday festival in Paisley. They were accompanied by their coaches Diane Gibson, Sine Hamilton-McLean and Alana Bain and a number of parents.

It was the first time the Caithness gymnasts had taken part in this festival and the routine that they performed was choreographed especially for the event by their coaches. The routine was a dynamic explosion of colour, with the gymnasts using clubs, hoops, ropes and ribbons to great effect.

Caithness were the only team with the rhythmic discipline performing at the festival. Bethan Wood gave up her birthday with her family to be with the team as they performed on the Saturday.

There is no let-up for the gymnasts as, together with all the others in the rhythmic section of the club, they are now concentrating on their Christmas routines to perform for families and friends in December.
