Caithness General Hospital's Bignold ward reopens

Caithness General Hospital's Bignold ward has reopened, almost three weeks after being closed to new admissions because of a norovirus outbreak.

NHS Highland announced on May 10 that several patients had symptoms of diarrhoea and/or vomiting, and that norovirus had been confirmed. Visiting to the ward was also restricted to essential only.

A spokesperson for the health board confirmed today that the ward is now open again.
