ADVICE and information about careers, training and recruitment will be showcased at the latest Caithness Jobs and How to Get Them taking place in Wick next week.
The free event is now in its eighth year and this time the venue is Wick High School on Saturday, February 8, from 10am to 2pm. It will feature nearly 40 local employers from a range of sectors including construction, engineering, IT, healthcare and hospitality, as well as the uniformed services, who will be on hand to provide details of job opportunities and future career options.
Interactive activities will be included by some sectors to give an understanding of how a business functions and the skills required to be part of the workforce.
The event is organised by a partnership of agencies, organisations and education providers in the north Highlands, led by the Developing the Young Workforce North Highland initiative.
Presentations will be delivered by the armed forces, NHS, North Highland College UHI and representatives from the hospitality and tourism industry highlighting the many learning opportunities and career paths available within the local area.
Representatives from Skills Development Scotland and Jobcentre Plus will be in attendance offering advice and guidance on career paths and employability skills.
All members of the public are invited to go along whether they are seeking employment, considering a change of career, or just want to find out more about the opportunities available to them. Find the event on Facebook and Twitter.
