Caithness Drugs and Alcohol Forum (CDAF) will host a weekend event celebrating recovery over September 16-17.

On Saturday, September 16 from 8pm to 1am there will be an event at Mr C's in Thurso with "fun and dance".

A line-up of local talent will feature and there will be many non-alcoholic drinks available.

Then on Sunday, September 17 there will be a Recovery Celebration at East Caithness Community Facility (Wick High School) from 10 am which is described as a "fun filled event including stalls and a short walk for those who are able".

High Life Highland will be using the school to host stalls and allow community members to come along and promote what they love. This is free to those who want to join in but donations are welcome to allow a build up for future events.

Some spaces are left for stalls on the Sunday for these type of skills:

  • Sports/recreation club
  • Fitness instructor/organisation
  • Well-being practitioner
  • Musician
  • Entertainer
  • Artist

"Or perhaps you are just someone passionate about promoting health and recovery? Then we would love for you to get involved. Send us a message to find out more or to register an interest," says CDAF.

Following this the countryside rangers will be hosting a short walk along Wick river from 2pm.
