It may have been cloudy and wet at the start of this year’s County Show but inside the SWI tent there was a vibrant and colourful display of handicrafts, art and home baking, all created by talented members of local institutes.

There was also a display of crochet items from years gone by, while in one corner of the tent visitors could come and try crochet alongside some of the more experienced members.

Secretary Alison Hill said: "Entries were up and we had a lovely display. Judges came from Moray and Nairn this year and they were delighted with the quality of the work on show.

"We are extremely grateful to everyone who gave up their time to help within the tent and we thank everyone who visited us."

Latheron took first prize for overall institute points with 221, just ahead of second-placed Thrumster on 219.
