Caithness bookies expecting bumper Grand National day

OVER £20,000 is expected to be gambled at a Wick betting shop on Saturday as bookies across the country prepare for the biggest horse-racing event of the year.
Punters are expected to line up to place a bet on one of 40 horses riding in the Grand National at Aintree.
Ladbrokes in Thurso and Wick are looking forward to welcoming a bumper number of customers dreaming of making big money.
With the demise of Scotscoup, which closed its doors last year, Ladbrokes is now the only bookmakers in Wick and staff are expecting one of the shop’s busiest ever days.
