The event celebrates this year’s theme, Ceanglaichean gun Chrìch, which in English means Building Connections.

Big Sing is one of more than 60 groups across Scotland and beyond who have been awarded funding from the initiative’s Small Grants Fund, supported by Bòrd na Gàidhlig, to organise events and activities to promote the Gaelic language.

Catriona MacLeod from Strathnaver, a founding member of the choir, said: “We are delighted to be taking part in this year’s Seachdain na Gàidhlig.

“This year marks the 25th anniversary of the creation of the Gaelic tree spiral walk in Borgie Forest, where native trees were planted to represent each letter of the Ogham alphabet.

Established in 2022 and funded by Bòrd na Gàidhlig, World Gaelic Week celebrates Scottish Gaelic around the world and aims to raise the profile of Gaelic through community initiatives, school engagement, and events.

Anyone can take part or organise their own event - the initiative provides opportunities for Gaelic speakers, and non-speakers alike, to get involved in a way that suits them.
