Society of Caithness Artists to host annual exhibition in 2022 at North Highland College UHI
Caithness artists will once again hold a physical exhibition of works in 2022 after two years without an in-person show.
The Society of Caithness Artists heard at its recent meeting – the first to be held face-to-face in two years – that despite it not being possible to hold physical shows for the past two years, the group has remained active.
Chairman Ian Pearson revealed that the three online exhibitions organised by the society had seen a combined total of more than 100 sales from over 86 artists, many of whom participated in all three exhibitions. The shows were seen across the world, with over 4000 visitors seeing the artwork.
Mr Pearson said that the society intends to organise its annual exhibition for 2022 at the North Highland College UHI in Thurso. The final handing-in date for artists to submit their work is Saturday, July 23, with the exhibition due to open on Monday, July 25, and closing on Friday, August 5.
The society has also redesigned its website – https://societyofcaithnessartists.co.uk – with help from Caithness Creative Design.

A newsletter was launched this year aimed at people with any interest in art, with more than 100 people signed up.
Other activities which the Society of Caithness Artists has assisted with and promoted have included exhibiting paintings in shop windows, combining creative skills with local writers and holding a small exhibition in Thurso Library. More similar events are planned for 2022.
The AGM of the society will take place in the Pentland Hotel towards the end of April.
