Members and guests heard about the plans for the society’s 90th Annual Exhibition which include special displays of artwork. The show will take place at the ETEC building of the Thurso UHI Campus from July 21 until August 1, with handing in day for artists submitting work on Saturday, July 19.

Society chairman Ian Pearson made an appeal for early copies of exhibition catalogues.

He said: “The society’s archives holds most back catalogues of our annual exhibitions but we have nothing before number 13 and would love to see earlier copies, so if anyone has such historical records please let the society know.”

The society’s committee was elected as follows: Euan Ferrier, Jackie Newton, Willie Wallace, Elaine Rapson-Grant, Anne Grain, Aileen Paton and Valerie Barker. Office bearers elected: Jean Mackay, treasurer, Penny Irvine, secretary, Don Clarke, vice chair, and Ian Pearson, chair.
