The Society of Caithness Artists recently held its AGM in the Pentland Hotel in Thurso and saw a good turnout of members of the public.

The meeting heard plans for this year’s annual exhibition which will again take place at the Engineering Technology and Energy Centre (ETEC), part of the UHI Thurso Campus. Handing in day will be July 20. Further details are on the society’s website at https://societyofcaithnessartists.co.uk

The election of office bearers saw the current secretary Elizabeth Lay step down and the new secretary is Penny Irvine. The treasurer remains as Jean MacKay and Ian Pearson continues in the role of chair with his vice chair being Don Clarke.

At the end of the meeting Elizabeth was presented with a glass sculpture made and presented by Ian.
