Stagecoach has announced that none of its buses in Caithness are running this morning.

The bus firm blamed bad weather for the suspension of service.

A yellow weather warning is in place for much of the north-west Highlands and Caithness today.

The Met Office is warning of that snow and ice will bring difficult driving conditions and localised transport disruption.

A spokesman said: "Some roads and railways likely to be affected with longer journey times by road, bus and train services.

"There will probably be some icy patches on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths (and a risk of) some injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces."
