Burns celebrations in Caithness continued at the weekend as a capacity attendance turned out at Forss village hall on Saturday evening.

It was the first time the event had been held since the pandemic.

A meal was served up by the Forss Young Farmers, coupled with light-hearted speeches and a rousing dance to follow in honour of Scotland's national bard.

Chairman for the evening was Graeme Mackay, with his near namesake Graham Mackay addressing the haggis.

Delivering the Immortal Memory was Councillor Willie Mackay, who shared some humorous stories about the life and times of Robert Burns.

Michael Gunn gave the Toast to the Lassies and Suzanne Smith replied.

Councillor Mackay said: "It was absolutely wonderful to see Forss hall full again after three years. Everyone was there to celebrate the life of Rabbie Burns.

"There was a fantastic atmosphere throughout the entire evening, one which Burns himself looking down would have been proud of."
