Burns celebration at Thurso-based Monday Club
Tributes to Scotland's Bard rang out once more this week as the Thurso-based Monday Club celebrated the life and work of Robert Burns.
Forty members, helpers and carers attended a well-supported Burns Supper in the rugby club pavilion as the event returned for the first time since the pandemic.
Club chairman Hugh Millar welcomed everyone and gave the appreciation. Willie Mackay addressed the haggis and toasted the lassies, and Barbara Haywood gave the reply.
Elizabeth Mappin performed a Burns song. Liam Davidson was the piper, while Conor Buchan carried in the haggis.
Willie Mackay, who is a Monday Club committee member, said: "It was great to see everyone enjoying the Burns celebrations once more at the Monday Club. We had a very good enthusiastic attendance, a scrumptious supper and light-hearted speeches."
