Bumper crowds at Bower Gala - picture special

THIS year’s Bower Show proved a flying success, pulling bigger crowds and raising more money than in past years.

The big day last Saturday met with the perfect weather to guarantee a good celebration as Don Swanson (12) was crowned “king”. He was accompanied by his two attendants, Sophie Miller (7) and Lexie Swanson (8).

The day of fun featured the Scottish bale push championships and included an array of stalls, a bouncy castle, children’s tent and a number of demonstrations.

There was a good entry for the dog show with the pedigree entry won by Fea, a German short-eared pointer, owned by Christine Lord, from Lochend.

Secretary Ann Brock said organisers are delighted with the way the day turned out and with how popular everything proved.
