Bulbs on show at Weydale group's first meeting of the year

President Amy Walker welcomed members to the first meeting of the year for Weydale Ladies' Group.

There was no speaker as it was the group's bulb show.

The Jean Allan Trophy for three hyacinths was won by Cathy Stewart, who also took the Adamson Trophy for best exhibit.

The Horndean Trophy for most points went to Amy Walker.

Competitions – Six pieces of tablet: 1 Crid Hourston; 2 Annie Mackay; 3 Liz MacDonald.

Table runner: 1 Annie Mackay; 2 Amy Walker; 3 Liz MacDonald.

Raffle winners were Margaret Ryrie, Amy Walker and Moira Mackie.

Tea ladies were Margaret Ryrie and Elizabeth Lay.

The president thanked Lorna Swanson for judging the bulbs and competitions, and also thanked the tea ladies.

Secretary Annie Mackay said: "Our next meeting is on May 29 at 7pm in Thurso West Church hall if anyone would like to join us."
