Three Castletown brothers raised more than £700 for charity after competing in one of the UK’s toughest night races while dressed as Power Rangers.

Colin (28), Chris (26) and Michael Stone (23) ran in the annual Mighty Deerstalker in Innerleithen on Saturday, March 14 – one of the last events to take place before coronavirus closures came into force nationally.

Among the group raising funds alongside the Stone trio were next-door neighbour Scott Sutherland (21) and school friend Rob Murdoch (25).

We're delighted with our efforts and we would like to thank everyone for their donations.

The five completed the 10-mile, 2000ft challenge in under two hours and 30 minutes.

Colin, who finished eight minutes behind Chris and 10 ahead of Michael, said: "This year was my 10th Deerstalker, and it's up there with the toughest yet.

"We were at the base of the second hill, an hour into the run, when the rain started coming down heavily and the wind picked up. It's hard enough running in a full-body morph suit without having to battle the elements simultaneously.

"We're delighted with our efforts, though, and the team and I would like to thank everyone for their donations."

At time of writing, £705 has been donated to Parkinson’s UK.
