Bower youngsters are buzzing over go-karts
They were funded by MFR’s Cash for Kids appeal and will encourage the youngsters to get active even in the poorer winter weather.
The nursery in the village has a surfaced play area which is used when the grass play area is wet and muddy.
The go karts have been like early Christmas presents for the youngsters, BBB secretary Marina Swanson said.
She added: “We are delighted with the financial support received from MFR Cash for Kids which has enabled our nursery to purchase the go-karts. The children at Bower love to get out and about whatever the weather and I’m sure the new karts will be a big hit. The children were so excited when they first saw them and I’m sure they will bring much enjoyment.”
Further fundraising on behalf of the nursery continues on Sunday when it hosts the annual Bower Christmas fayre. The event is running from 12-4pm at Bower Community Hall and will include a range of festive stalls, ‘Try It’ children’s craft table, baking and refreshments.
Entertainment will include the youngsters performing Christmas songs, Highland dancers and the Caithness Bell Ringers. Santa will also be making a guest appearance.
