Children at two local schools have been doing their bit for those in need recently.

Pupils at Keiss Primary School and Nursery and Bower Primary School have been collecting items to donate to the annual Blythswood Shoebox appeal which works to provide necessary items to help those struggling in eastern Europe.

A great deal of donations were collected by pupils at both schools with many boxes made up and wrapped for Christmas.

Some of the children from Bower Primary School are pictured with the donations from both schools which were gathered together before being delivered to the Blythswood Lorry in Castletown.
