Body discovered near John O’Groats – Police currently investigating

A police presence was noted over the last few days near John O’Groats and it has just been confirmed that a body was discovered.

Officers were seen at an area known as Warth Hill, between Freswick and John O’Groats, and are still conducting operations at the site.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 10am on Thursday, 28 March, 2024 officers were made aware of the body of a person being found in the area of Freswick, Caithness.

"The death is being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing."

Formal identification of the body is still to take place.
