Boat crashes into rocks on Caithness coast

CREW from Thurso Lifeboat Station were called out in the early hours of Tuesday morning when a boat struck rocks at Murkle.

Storm conditions were said to be between force 7-9 when crew received the distress call at 3.50am.

The boat managed to refloat itself due to the rising tide and was then escorted to Scrabster Harbour by the Lifeboat.

It is believed nobody was hurt.
