Blaze in Thurso brought under control by fire services

Thurso Community Fire Station was called out last night (April 18) to the tower blocks around Stainland Street in the town where a house fire had taken place.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "We were alerted at 8.46pm on Thursday, April 18, to reports of a fire within a dwelling on Stainland Street in Thurso.

"Operations Control immediately mobilised two fire appliances to the scene, and firefighters extinguished the fire.

"There were no casualties and crews left the scene after ensuring the area was made safe."
