Seventy-five members, helpers and carers from around the county gathered in Wick's Norseman Hotel on Saturday for the long-awaited Easter afternoon tea dance held by the local branch of Enable.

It was the first time the event had taken place since before the pandemic and, with non-stop music supplied by Colin McFeat, the dance floor was never empty.

A highlight of the afternoon was the arrival – for the first time in four years – of a team of bikers from The End And More Motorcycle Club (Team MCC) with chocolate Easter eggs to hand out.

The bikers, led by Team MCC organiser Diane Bissett, were given a rousing reception as they made their way onto the dance floor to join the members while dancing to a rock ’n’ roll song.

Willie Mackay, chairman of the Caithness branch of the charity for people with learning disabilities, said: "The Easter afternoon tea dance was always a big favourite with the members and carers. The last was held in 2019, and those attending always remembered the bikers in their leathers from Team MCC arriving with a huge selection of Easter eggs.

"At 3pm on Saturday the Norseman ballroom was brought to a standstill as the bikers arrived to a tumultuous reception from our members. It was fantastic to see the welcome they all got."
