OVER the past year staff at Wick Medical Centre have been fundraising in memory of local pharmacist David Dunn who passed away in November 2012.

A total of £3038.44 was raised by various activities, including a sponsored run at the Mey 10k, sponsored slim, dress-down Fridays, a raffle and donating money instead of sending Christmas cards.

A donation was also received from the staff of Colin Clark Pharmacies, where David worked.

Our photo shows David’s widow, Karen (right), and their 20-month-old daughter, Kelsey, accepting the cheque from (from left) Ruth Black, office manager Riverview Practice, Pat Niwa, manager the Pearson Practice, and Julie Young, administrator Riverview Practice.

The cash is being divided equally between the Asthma Society in Wick, the renal unit at Caithness General Hospital, North of Scotland Blood Transfusion Service at Raigmore Hospital, Inverness, and the Pharmacy Students’ Hardship Fund at Aberdeen’s Robert Gordon University.
