A large cat may have been responsible for attacks on livestock in Sutherland.

Police are investigating reports of sheep and lambs having been killed and injured on June 4 and June 9 in two locations, both in the Edderton Hill area. Officers have confirmed that, due to the nature of the injuries, they are looking into the possibility that the sheep may have been attacked by a large cat.

An appeal for more information has gone out and anyone who can help with the investigation is asked to contact police on 0845 600 5703.
