Murkle members buzzing after bee talk

Murkle WI members enjoyed a very interesting talk on the life story of bees and bee keeping.

Phil and Suzanne Tomlinson talked about the process of making bees wax and its purposes. Phil then went on to explain the differences in the formation of honey, for example heather honey through to rape seed honey.

He then talked about what fruit and veg bees pollinate and he also mentioned other pollinators such as the wind and butterflies. He explained about honey, bumble and solitary bees and their purpose and the reproduction of bees for their survival.
