THE first acts performing at RockNess 2012 have been announced.

Taking to the stage just outside Inverness over the weekend of June 8, 9 and 10 will be Scots heroes Biffy Clyro, current electro kingpin Deadmau5, rising star Ed Sheeran, French electro-house duo Justice and folk rockers Mumford & Sons.

Now with a sixth studio album well under way, Biffy are heading to Dores to unleash their seriously big sound in the band’s first-ever Scottish festival headline slot.

Speaking about the announcement, Simon Neil, Ben Johnston and James Johnston, who make up the Glaswegian three-piece, said: “We are thrilled to be returning to RockNess in June, and this time we’ll be headlining.

“The location is amazing and the enthusiastic crowd made for a memorable experience in 2009, so we’re counting down the days until our return in 2012.’’

More quality is added to the bill with Ed Sheeran, who’s arguably the biggest rising star of the last 12 months, as well as chart-topping superstar DJ Deadmau5 who almost appeared at the multi-award winning festival last year.

A long-time requested act from the fans, Justice, finally make their RockNess debut this summer and are sure to brig their own unique Gallic beats and sound to the shores of Loch Ness.
