BELLADRUM festival is taking to the road with two acts appearing in Wick this Friday evening (May 24).

The Blackstairs Lounge is hosting two acts from the inaugural Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival tour – Edinburgh/London pop trio Liimo and the Highland’s own soul pop artist Tamzene.

Scotland’s largest family music festival added a new string to its bow with the launch of this Belladrum on the Road tour.

"We are looking forward to our very first Belladrum on the Road tour and what better way to launch this than with our very own Tamzene alongside another incredible brand-new buzz act, Liimo," said festival boss Joe Gibbs.

Liimo will be appearing at the Blackstairs Lounge on Friday night (May 24).

Liimo – an abbreviation of little more – issued their debut single, the internet track Pineapple Radio, in December 2018 to critical acclaim and their follow-up Get Weird, released earlier this month, is also a hit with reviewers.

Tamzene is a singer, writer and multi-instrumentalist from Cromarty. She burst onto the scene in 2017 with her debut, Lullaby, a track that garnered airplay across a range of radio networks and picked up support from a host of national and international media channels.

Her latest single, released in December 2018, Last Song, featured on eight Spotify curated playlists, including the influential New Music Friday in the UK, USA and Sweden.

This year sees Tamzene showcasing new music with a bolder, soulful pop-edge at festivals up and down the country.

Blackstairs Lounge will host the event from 8pm on Friday (May 24) with tickets on the door priced £8 or available online at www.skiddle.com
