Befriending Caithness entered into the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations with a special themed summer lunch at Lyth Arts Centre.
Over 30 befrienders and befriendees from all over Caithness came together last Wednesday for the monthly group meeting at Lyth. Those taking part were able to socialise, reminisce or just have a good blether.
"We were lucky enough to have music by Ady Harper which was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone," said befriending coordinator Elspeth Manson. "The weather was also kind enough to allow us to sit out on the veranda and enjoy the garden."
A bouquet of flowers was presented to one of the befriendees, June Dyson, of Brough, who celebrated her 90th birthday last week. June then cut the cake made in recognition of the Queen's 70th year on the throne.
The group are on the look out for new volunteers so if you think you would have time to have a chat and enjoy listening to befriendees stories please get in touch with Befriending Caithness by emailing angie@cvg.org.uk or elspeth@cvg.org.uk
