BBC ALBA to broadcast top acts from Belladrum
TEXAS, Deacon Blue, Guillemots and Kassidy – plus many more locally and internationally renowned bands and artists – will be shown live on BBC ALBA as the sold-out Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival gets television coverage for the first time.
BBC ALBA is producing two live two-hour programmes, Belladrum 2011: Cridhe Tartan, from Beauly this Friday and Saturday from 10pm until midnight.
The channel has secured the rights to cover the two headline acts, Texas and Deacon Blue, live from the main stage on Friday and Saturday nights respectively.
Along with these, the festival package will allow viewers to enjoy performances from top bands from the main stage including Frank Turner, Little Comets, Vintage Trouble, Dangleberries, Guillemots and Eli Paperboy Reed.
This is the first time in the festival’s eight-year history it will be televised and with BBC ALBA now available on Freeview it can be enjoyed by audiences throughout the whole of Scotland and with catch-up viewing via the BBC iPlayer.

Gaelic presenters Fiona MacKenzie and Niall Iain MacDonald will host the programmes.
Margaret Cameron, channel editor of BBC ALBA, said: "Being the first Scottish Highland festival that Deacon Blue have ever played, it is absolutely fantastic that we will be able to provide live coverage for fans who have missed out on tickets and who can enjoy the best of the festival from home."
BBC ALBA’s Belladrum programmes will be repeated on Thursday, August 11, and Friday, August 12, with both airing at 10pm until midnight.
