Battling to bring home the harvest

FARMERS and crofters across Caithness have been battling to bring home the harvest this year given the lack of a decent long dry spell. Last weekend’s decent weather was warmly welcomed for those who still had crops of barley, corn and wheat in their fields.

Some are counting the cost of crops which have taken a battering as the potentially heavy yields succumbed to high winds and heavy showers.
