Ban for Wick driver who was over drugs limit





A Wick driver who was found to be over the drug-driving limit was banned from driving for a year at the town's sheriff court on Wednesday.

Unemployed Kasim Ahmed (29), of Macrae Street, Wick, was also ordered to carry out 60 hours of unpaid community work.

A roadside drug sample in Barrogill Street, Wick, on January 19, revealed a level of 2.9 mcg for the cannabis-based drug Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol when analysed. The legal limit is 2 mcg.
