Canisbay-based Annie's Bakery won bronze for its hot savoury Scotch pie and its breakfast pie in the 19th annual edition of the competition.

Annie Body travelled down to the award ceremony in Cumbernauld where she was presened with her awards by TV personality Carol Smillie.

Annie said: She said: “We are delighted with our win and can go away with our heads held very high indeed. To have been judged as one of the best in the land against so many of our peers is a huge achievement.”

"We were delighted as we have never won for our Scotch pie before. It was a big achievement as everybody goes in for it. We use good quality local butcher meat so I think that makes a difference.”
