Bail breaches admitted by Wick prisoner

A Wick man has appeared from custody at Kirkwall Sheriff Court and admitted two overnight curfew breaches.

John Begg, who appeared via a video link from Porterfield Prison, Inverness, had been granted bail at Wick Sheriff Court on May 21 with the condition that he observed a 7pm to 7am curfew at his house in Macrae Street and made himself available to police officers.

He pleaded guilty to breaching the condition on September 28.

He also admitted a further breach on October 13 when he was subject to a further condition that he made himself available to officers checking that there were no females under 16 in his house during the curfew.

Sentence on Begg was deferred for a criminal justice social work report until November 15 when he will appear at Wick.

Sheriff David Sutherland further remanded him in the meantime.
