Bad a Cheo wind farm exhibition to be staged in Halkirk





AN exhibition on a wind farm development in Caithness is to held in Halkirk next week.

The event, which is taking place at the Ross Institute in Halkirk on Wednesday, will give the public information on the 13-turbine Bad a Cheo wind farm, 15km south of Thurso. It will also give those there an opportunity to express their views.

The exhibition will show photomontages of how the development – at the Achkeepster site adjacent to the existing Causewaymire Wind Farm – will look.

The wind farm, with up to 33MW capacity, is being proposed by RWE npower.

A spokesman for the company said the exhibition is intended to provide local people with the opportunity to find out more about the studies being undertaken for the project, ask questions, air their views and make suggestions.

Louise Smith, of Caithness Renewables Ltd, is the local liaison officer for the project and will be on hand to discuss the project.

She said: “We hope the local community takes the opportunity to come along to find out about this scheme. We are keen to hear people’s opinions and comments on the proposals.”

The exhibition will run from 10am to 8pm.
