PRESENTATIONS have been made by the RNLI to some of the Wick lifeboat crew and fundraisers in recognition of their long service and devotion to the organisation.

Graham Cormack was honoured for 24 years' service and Mark Cormack received a long service medal for 30 years, while Colin Campbell and Graeme Campbell were each presented with an RNLI service medal for 20 years – representing 94 years of crew service combined. At the same time, John Taylor was honoured for services to the fundraising committee and lifeboat station.

The men received their awards from the Wick RNLI branch management committee chairman, Murray Lamont.

“It’s an honour and a pleasure to present these long service awards to members of Wick lifeboat crew and the fundraising committee," Mr Lamont said. "Lifeboats are dependent on volunteers who give up their spare time to train and be ready to go sea at very short notice when an emergency arises."
