Autumn boost for Wick Town Centre as new shops open
Wick Town Centre is set to receive a massive boost this month as three new shops are due to open along with new council offices during October.
Highland Council staff are making their final preparations for their move into the new Market Square offices.
The £8.6 million Caithness House will be open for business on Monday morning.
A gift and jewellery business based in Thurso is to open up a branch in Wick.
Eye Candy owner Laura Freeman is to open the new outlet at the corner of Bridge Street and High Street later this month.
It will complement her existing boutique on Thurso’s pedestrian precinct which has been open since 2010.
Sams Furniture Ltd will be moving into the former DR Simpsons building in Market Square.

Owner Sam Salim hopes to open the new business in October and final refurbishment works are currently taking place.
He will be retaining his current base in High Street which will continue to focus on developing bedroom and dining ranges while the new building will be geared towards living room furniture and seating.
Nickel N Dime have taken over the premises at 47 High Street, previously occupied by the 99p store.
Director Muhammed Humayoon hopes the store will open to the public during October.
Nickel N Dime has 36 stores throughout Scotland, including one in Thurso.
